Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and its airline and cargo partners have finalized new multi-year Airline Use and Lease Agreements and Signatory Cargo Agreements, establishing the financial and operational framework that will guide airport growth over the next decade.
These milestone agreements provide the foundation for airport revenues that support daily operations and enable AUS’s multi-billion-dollar expansion program, which now includes plans for 32 new airline gates. The agreements outline major capital projects planned over the next 10 years, define how airline rates and charges are calculated, and commit participating airlines and cargo companies to long-term operations at AUS.
Signatory partners include Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, FedEx, and UPS. The agreements govern how fees are assessed for airport-owned facilities such as runways, gates, ticket counters, baggage systems, and aircraft parking, ensuring a cost-recovery structure that supports long-term investment and financial stability.
Key projects supported by the agreements include:
- Concourse B, a new 26-gate concourse designed to support long-term passenger growth.
- A new Arrivals and Departures Hall that will modernize the airport’s front door, improve curbside access, expand baggage claim, and centralize TSA screening.
- Concourse M, a new 6-gate facility providing operational flexibility and capacity for future growth.
- Concourse A redevelopment, The existing concourse, departures hall, ticket counters, and baggage claim in the Barbara Jordan Terminal will be redeveloped to create a modernized, post-security Concourse A.
- Campus-wide utility upgrades, expanding power, cooling, water, and IT systems to support the growing airport footprint.

As the project scope has expanded to meet increasing passenger demand and airline needs, the overall program is expected to grow from an estimated $4 billion to more than $5 billion.
Together, these agreements position AUS to support Central Texas’ continued growth, strengthen regional connectivity, and deliver long-term economic benefits for the Austin business community.
